Oulu’s Bus Stops Are Entering the Digital Era
Outshine is bringing digital outdoor advertising to the streets and bus stops of Oulu in a bold and visible way. The new network is expanding rapidly and will soon reach nearly all residents of Oulu, as well as the majority of the region’s population and its visitors.
Starting in early October, the Oulu network will grow by 60 new digital screens. More than half are already installed, and electrification is underway. The rest will appear at bus stops throughout the autumn. Altogether, there will be over 80 outdoor advertising screens in the Oulu area. The entire digital network is now available for booking.
“Oulu is a key city for us, and the digital, motion-sensor-equipped network at bus stops takes outdoor advertising to a whole new level. The rapid growth of the network comes at the perfect time, as Oulu prepares for next year’s European Capital of Culture and the influx of visitors it will bring,” says Tommi Fäldt, Commercial Director at Outshine.
Extensive Reach
The Oulu network reaches 99% of the city’s residents and 82% of the entire region’s population. Each bus stop screen delivers messages directly into the everyday lives of locals — in real time and in a modern format.
“Digital technology enables data-driven, real-time, and rapidly updatable content. At bus stops, it’s also possible to create advertising that interacts with its audience,” Fäldt adds.

Cultural Capital Year Boosts Visibility
In 2026, Oulu will be the European Capital of Culture. Oulu2026 will bring over 1,000 events and an estimated 2.5 million visitors to the city. This means more contacts and visibility than ever before.
