Markus Grannenfelt has been appointed Executive Vice President, Strategy and Marketing at Outshine, effective August 4. He will also join the company’s executive team and become a shareholder. In his new role, Markus will lead Outshine’s strategic development and drive marketing and data capabilities forward. In 2024, the company grew its revenue by 56% to nearly €5 million.
Grannenfelt joins Outshine after a decade-long tenure at media agency OMD Finland, where he served as CEO and helped build it into the second-largest agency brand in the Finnish market. Throughout his career, he has focused on marketing and media, with more than 25 years of experience in digital business development, both as an entrepreneur and investor.
“Out-of-home advertising is at a pivotal turning point. It has become the third-largest media category in Finland, while both the media landscape and advertisers are rapidly embracing digital. Companies like Outshine – with their own in-house development team, tech platform, and scalable business model – are in a prime position to lead this transformation. We already have an internationally competitive platform that allows advertisers to buy outdoor media through self-service, just like they would on Meta or Google. Outshine is known for its striking digital out-of-home (DOOH) solutions in central urban locations across Finland. With the latest technology, campaigns can now leverage real-time data, interactivity, gaming-inspired mechanics, 3D elements, and data-driven digital marketing – features never before seen in outdoor advertising.

Continued Strong Growth in 2025
2024 was a year of strong performance for Outshine: revenue grew to €4.84 million (+56%), with excellent profitability as EBITDA exceeded €1.7 million – over 35% of revenue. The company has continued to grow faster than the market, and this year’s revenue has already surpassed the previous fiscal year.
Outshine provides out-of-home advertising in over 60 cities across Finland. In 2024, the company won the most valuable sections of Finland’s largest outdoor advertising tender and signed a nearly 11-year contract with the City of Helsinki. In 2025, Outshine begins a 15-year partnership with the City of Oulu, having won the tender for exclusive advertising rights on bus shelter surfaces.
