This season, digital outdoor advertising brings the highlights of the game action to the heart of the city — in real time.
A new kind of collaboration kicks off on the screens during the league’s home opener on September 19. The content and atmosphere on the screens will evolve throughout the season.
“Digital outdoor advertising enables content that reacts to game events and updates instantly. Hockey has never been played like this outside the rink in Tampere. It’s exciting to help build Tappara’s upcoming season together,” says Jani Lepistö, CEO of Outshine.
Tappara has previously used Outshine’s screen network for outdoor campaigns, but this time the goal is to shift into a whole new gear — making sure the atmosphere of home games reaches fans across the city faster than ever.
A Season Worth Celebrating
Tappara’s Marketing and Event Manager Jesse Pyykkö sees the collaboration as a step toward a more modern fan experience:
“Tappara is celebrating its 70th anniversary this season. To honor that, we want to be more visible and impactful to our fans than ever before — not just inside the arena, but also out on the streets and in the flow of city life. This is the perfect way to celebrate our milestone and the season ahead,” Pyykkö says.
Real-time content will be shared before, during, and after each game.
“Let’s see what the autumn brings. Before the game, the screens will show info like the time of the next match. On game day, we can highlight the starting lineup or other timely updates. And when the puck drops, the most exciting moments and goal scorers will be shared across the city. After the game, it’s time for post-match reactions and the best vibes,” Lepistö adds.
Screens Stay in the Game All Season Long
The collaboration between Tappara and Outshine brings the highlights of Nokia Arena into the heart of Tampere throughout the season. In honor of the anniversary, the downtown screens become an extension of the rink — a place where fans can feel the thrill of victory and the spirit of the game, even outside the arena.
“This is a new kind of community experience, where technology and passion meet,” Pyykkö sums up.
